My weekend started early on a Friday night at The Soderno at Molito Lifestyle Center in Alabang. This new craze from the South is being organized by the same masterminds of the successful Mercato Centrale at Bonifactio Global City. But aside from being a food heaven, Soderno is also a market for fashionistas and the arts & craft lovers.
Together with the other joy seekers, I was one of the first people who witnessed the event’s opening. I arrived around 6:00 PM and in just a matter of minutes the place was totally jam packed with people who wish to experience great finds. The first thing I did was browsing each and every stall and taking pictures of their products. Afterwards, I decided which food to try and it wasn’t easy. The choice of food was between Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Mexican, American, and Filipino. All of these are enclosed in a tent which is made convenient for everyone. It is set up in a well-ventilated, free wi-fi, and family-friendly environment.
On my first visit, I tried Tong Baracas’ Barbeque Skewers and Anita’s freshly baked cupcakes. Both are must tries! I was satisfied and happy with my experience. In fact, I brought my eating buddy with me on my next visit. I wasn’t hungry so I just bought Mr. Raptor’s Guinumis. It is a mixture of crushed ice, tapioca, and your choice of liquor. My friend ate Roti Kings’s roti with curry sauce and pistachio ice cream from Fruits in Ice Cream. Before we leave, I bought chow fan rice with toppings from Rice Pot. My friend doesn’t like to go home without anything so she bought a supreme pizza from AJ’s. My second visit wasn’t the last. It was followed by another one last week and I am planning to go back to buy something for the Christmas Eve.
